AFC Playoff Scenarios: Colts and Chargers are #1 & #2, then…

The Indianapolis Colts have home field and the San Diego Chargers have the bye, but seeds 3 through 6 are still a bit cloudy. Here is a taste of what could happen.

The New England Patriots are the #3 seed as of now, but with a loss and a Cincinnati Bengals win they are the #4 seed. This is the only way Cincinnati can get the #3 seed. New England holds the tie breakers over the Bengals in case of tie.

Now to the wide open AFC Wild Card.

The New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens control their destiny. If they both win they are in. The New York Jets face Cincinnati Sunday Night. The Baltimore Ravens face the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon.

Now here is a list of what the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Denver Broncos would need to make the playoffs.

Denver needs a combination of the following

  • a win (vs. Kansas City) and a N.Y. Jets loss loss or tie (vs. Cincinnati) and a Baltimore loss or tie (vs. Oakland) OR
