There is still one playoff spot remaining in the AFC and its owner will be determined by the regular season finale between the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals.
The New York Jets will get that last remaining spot with a win and will face a rematch against the Cincinnati Bengals next week on the road.
However, should the Jets lose the Houston Texans will get the final playoff spot and face the Bengals.
The Indianapolis Colts have long since wrapped up the number one seed in the playoffs, just as the San Diego Chargers have done with the second seed.
In addition to playing spoilers to the Jets, the Cincinnati Bengals will be the third seed in the AFC with a win. A loss would drop them down to the fourth seed.
The New England Patriots will be the fourth seed in the AFC if the Bengals win. Should the Bengals lose, the Patriots will become the third seed.
The Baltimore Ravens will be the fifth seed in the playoffs with a Bengals victory, but would drop to the sixth seed with a Jets victory.
The Houston Texans will be the sixth seed in the AFC if the Bengals win.
The Jets will be the fifth seed if they win tonight.
The NFC playoff picture is already set. (view NFC playoff picture)

Hopefully the Texans get in! As a lifelong Texans fan, we have never been to the playoffs so hopefully the Bengals can somehow win this game. It’s a long shot since they’ll be resting their starters most likely, but still….crossing my fingers! If the Jets win, ughhhhh, I’ll just have to vent online about it I guess.
go JETS!!!!!
think i will drop Chicago as my team from about birth… going w/ New England, i believe..
