Shaun Hill
After being granted permission to seek a trade earlier in the week it appears that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill did just that.
The 49ers have traded hill to the Detroit Lions for a seventh-round draft pick in 2011 according to Matt Barros of the Sacramento Bee.
Hill’s career in San Francisco essentially came to a close when the team signed free agent David Carr to backup Alex Smith. He will now get the chance to be backup young Matthew Stafford in the Motor City.
The seventh-round draft pick seems a small price to pay for Hill who went 10-6 as a starter during his time with the 49ers.
Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan coached Hill when they were both with the Minnesota Vikings
