Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch will attempt to practice on Tuesday for the first time since undergoing wrist surgery.
Batch will wear a soft cast on his injured non-throwing wrist and will likely be relegated to third string on the depth chart.
Dennis Dixon is expected to be Ben Roethlisberger’s backup for their game on Thursday against the Browns.
Also returning to action for the Steelers is DE Travis Kirschke who has been out nursing a calf injury.
WR Hines Ward is not likely to suit up on Thursday. Mike Wallace is expected to start in his place.
Pittsburgh has lost four games in a row and hopes to take advantage of the 26th ranked passing defense of Cleveland. The question is whether Mike Wallace can step up to be Roethlisberger’s top threat.
