The rumblings between Mike Shanahan and the Washington Redskins continued to intensify Sunday morning when a report surfaced that Daniel Snyder offered the former Broncos coach the job back in March.

FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that Snyder went so far as to openly talked about bringing in Shanahan in front of Jim Zorn.

Despite the job offer in the off-season, Shanahan reportedly told Snyder to give Zorn one more year as the head coach.

Flash forward to October 2009 when reports surfaced that Snyder once again approached Shanahan to replace Zorn mid-season.

Again, Shanahan declined stating that there was nothing he could do for the team in the middle of the year.

Now, with Shanahan’s friend Bruce Allen hired as the G.M. could the third time be the charm?

Time will tell.

It should also be noted that Glazer reported that Shanahan was interested in taking over as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. However, there have been no rumblings that Dallas is interested in his services.

Plus, a big win against the New Orleans Saints last night have improved the outlook for current coach Wade Phillips.
