Mike Shanahan
The rumblings between Mike Shanahan and the Washington Redskins continued to intensify Sunday morning when a report surfaced that Daniel Snyder offered the former Broncos coach the job back in March.
FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that Snyder went so far as to openly talked about bringing in Shanahan in front of Jim Zorn.
Despite the job offer in the off-season, Shanahan reportedly told Snyder to give Zorn one more year as the head coach.
Flash forward to October 2009 when reports surfaced that Snyder once again approached Shanahan to replace Zorn mid-season.
Again, Shanahan declined stating that there was nothing he could do for the team in the middle of the year.
Now, with Shanahan’s friend Bruce Allen hired as the G.M. could the third time be the charm?
Time will tell.
It should also be noted that Glazer reported that Shanahan was interested in taking over as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. However, there have been no rumblings that Dallas is interested in his services.
Plus, a big win against the New Orleans Saints last night have improved the outlook for current coach Wade Phillips.
One more thing and I get off the band wagon. I have been a RedSkin fan all my life and I am now 65, so go look at the past and you will see what it takes to be a winner, 50/50 is the only way that I see it.
Shanahan can not change the problem, the owner needs to really review the players and stop listing to the players talk crap in that its the coaches faugh and not their. Really get smart and talk with all the coachs that you have let go and you may get the truth and not the bull crap that you are listing too.
The major problem is that the team is mostly black and they have this major problem that they do what they want when they get upset and tell the others to play but don,t put out. I recommend to replace the QB and get the player at 50/50 black and white, that way the redskins will have a chance in the future. I am sick of the dead skins, its not the coachs its the players that don,t want to get hurt and lose their pay.
