Redskins Destroy Raiders 34-13, Ganther Shines in First Start

The Washington Redskins scored a season high 34 points and soundly defeated the Oakland Raiders on Sunday by a score of 34-13.

Quinton Ganther scored two rushing touchdowns for the Redskins in his first ever NFL start. He had 50 yards on 14 carries to the delight of his many friends and family in the stands. He is, after all, a native of Oakland.

Jason Campbell continued to demonstrate growth along with the rest of the Redskins offense. The QB was 16 of 28 passing for 222 yards and two touchdowns. He was also without an interception.

TE Fred Davis had a big first half for the Redskins, hauling in two touchdown passes.

For the Raiders, it was a tale of two halves at quarterback.

Starter Bruce Gradkowski was 10 of 18 passing before injuring his knee at the end of the first half.

JaMarcus Russell took over in the second half to a loud chorus of boos. He was 10 of 16 passing for 74 yards and one interception.

Justin Fargas scored the lone Oakland touchdown on a one yard run in the second quarter.

Stat of the game: The Raiders scored 13 points, but had 14 penalties.

The Redskins record improves to 4-9 on the season while the Raiders record drops to the same mark.

The Redskins now have an opportunity to play spoiler in the NFC East with upcoming games against the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys in consecutive weeks. And with their offense clicking on all cylinders, they have a real opportunity to do some damage.

They have scored 74 points in their last two games.
