The Washington Redskins cut OL D’Anthony Batiste and signed LB Curtis Gatewood on Tuesday.

Batiste played in eight games on the offensive line this year for the Redskins.

The cut made room for Washington to sign Gatewood from the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad.

He is no stranger to the team, having served on the Redskins practice squad in 2008.

The roster moves come on the same day that Clinton Portis acknowledged he may not be back with the team next season.
