St. Louis Rams safety O.J. Atogwe may miss the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury.

The Rams organization broke the news through their Twitter account Monday afternoon.

Atogwe’s injury does require surgery, but the safety wants to get a second opinion before deciding on his future.

“It would have to be wrapped up, put it in a harness if we decide to go that route,” Atogwe said of the precautions he would need to take should he decide to tough out the final four games of the season.

There is speculation that the Rams may apply the franchise tag on him for a second straight season.
