Following Thursday’s thrilling 35-31 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning said that neither he nor his teammates would lobby coach Jim Caldwell to keep the starters in the lineup to give the team its best opportunity to go undefeated.

“We’re not going to lobby, because that’s not what a football team is about,” Manning told Scott Hanson of the NFL Network. “The head coach tells us what to do and we follow his orders. Certainly players have their hopes and wishes… Caldwell makes the call, we follow. So we’ll see what happens.”

Does that mean that he doesn’t care about having the perfect regular season? No.

“Obviously, personally, I hope we still play,” he added.

At 14-0 the Colts have already locked up home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The other perfect team in the NFL—the New Orleans Saints—take on the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night.

Manning admitted that he will be watching the game and called the Saints a “fun team.”
