Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith broke his left arm in the midst of catching a 26-yard touchdown from Matt Moore against the New York Giants on Sunday.

He is scheduled to have surgery on the arm Monday.

Coach John Fox told the media that Smith suffered a broken radius on the catch.

Smith had a strong game before exiting, aiding his team’s 41-9 victory in New York with five catches for 60 yards.

He will finish the season just 18 yards shy of 1,000 with 982 total yards receiving to go with his seven touchdowns.
