Jake Delhomme
The Carolina Panthers placed quarterback Jake Delhomme on injured reserve Thursday, ending his 2009 season.
Delhomme’s broken finger continued to swell during practice this week forcing the Panthers to make the call according to a report by ESPN.
Matt Moore will get the start for the remainder of the season.
The 2009 season was Delhomme’s worst as a pro.
He was 178 of 321 passing for 2015 yards and a 55.5% completion percentage. However, he threw only eight touchdowns compared to 18 interceptions.
There are conflicting reports about his future with the Panthers who is due to earn $13 million next season.
