The Washington Redskins got absolutely crushed by the New York Giants 45-12 Monday night at FedEx Field in Landover.
It the was most points the Redskins gave up at home since 2001. It was also the most points the Giants scored on the road in 55 years.
The Giants pulled Eli Manning from the game mid-way through the fourth quarter with the game securely in hand. David Carr came in to replace him.
The stat line reflects the game’s lopsided score.
Manning was 19 of 26 passing for 268 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions before being pulled.
In contrast, Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell was 15 of 28 for 192 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. He was also sacked five times.
On the ground, Ahmad Bradshaw carried the ball nine times for 61 yards and two touchdowns.
Jason Campbell was the Redskins leading rusher with 36 yards on two scrambles.
The biggest hit of the night for the Redskins defense came early in the fourth quarter when Albert Haynesworth landed a right cross on Brandon Jacobs during a fight between the two teams.
Osi Umenyiora, Jonathan Goff, Barry Cofield, Justin Tuck and Fred Robbins each had a sack for New York.
Albert Haynesworth and Lorenzo Alexander had the only two sacks of the night for Washington.
The Redskins wrap up their home season next week against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night.
Meanwhile, the Giants will host the Carolina Panthers next week.
