Coming off a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons are hoping that Matt Ryan can return to lineup this weekend against the New Orleans Saints.
ESPN is reporting that Falcons coach Mike Smith is optimistic that Ryan could be back on the practice field as soon as Wednesday.
“Of course we’re encouraged because we’re going to get a chance to see Matt out there on Wednesday,” Smith told reporters on Monday.
The training staff was also encouraged by Ryan’s progress.
When asked a second time about the status of his QB, Smith was a bit more wishy-washy.
“We’re hoping to see where he’s at on Wednesday. If he can come out and participate, then he’s going to come out and participate,” Smith said.
