Lions’ Stafford Has Successful Knee Surgery

According to the Detroit Lions, rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday.

The so-called ‘minor injury’ was on Stafford’s right knee. Stafford was placed on injured reserve by the Lions last week after realizing the injury would not allow him to be back in time for week 17.

Stafford threw for 2,267 yards, 13 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in his first NFL season. He also led the the Lions to their first victory in 20 games, defeating the Washington Redskins in week 3.
