The Detroit Lions placed rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford on injured reserve Thursday, ending his season.
Stafford’s season will end prematurely after sustaining shoulder and knee injuries earlier in the season.
The 1st pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, Stafford showed toughness and maturity while posting 2 wins during his rookie campaign. Stafford finished with 13 touchdowns, 20 interceptions and a quarterback rating of 61.0.
Drew Stanton will start at quarterback for the Lions in Week 16 as they visit the San Francisco 49ers.
