Bruce Gradkowski
Oakland Raiders QB Bruce Gradkowski is likely finished for the season after suffering a sprained MCL and partially torn MCL against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
With only three games left in the season, it is doubtful that he will be able to return this year.
JaMarcus Russell will likely finish out the season at quarterback for the Raiders.
“I’ll try to get back, do whatever I can to get healthy fast if I could,” Gradkowski told The Oakland Tribune after the game. “But it’s just tough. It’s tough because the past couple weeks I felt us great positive attitudes and energy and then this happens. But you know stuff happens for a reason. We just have to battle back and we’ll be all right.”
The Raiders wound up getting shellacked by the Redskins 34-13 on Sunday.
Our O line was terrible, for sure. But JaCarcass has no feel for the pocket whatsoever. Where Grat was able to step forward and buy the extra second or two to make the completion, Russell just got put on his enormous ass. I am all for giving a guy a chance, or even a second chance, but Ill do a dance when we finally rid ourselves of Russell.
The lack of a quality “O” line ultimately beat the Raiders today; it beat the Raiders through the 90s’ and its been beating the Raiders since 2002. Same goes for the “D” line until Al was finally forced to bring in talent like Seymore and Ellis. But how long will they be around? Not until uncle Al the player’s pal is gone and the next management TEAM figures out that the LINES HAVE TO BE DOMINANT FIRST before you bankrupt yourself on the skill positions.
For the long-term success of the Raiders this could be good, as they need to know if Russell has anything to offer whatsoever – and without this injury he was never going to get another game – remember this offseason Al can cut Russel with no cap hit….good luck to Russel, I hope he turns it around
