Notre Dame wide receiver Golden Tate will also be forgoing his senior season to enter the 2010 NFL Draft in April.

The news comes just hours after it was revealed that QB Jimmy Clausen would be turning pro as well.

With the Irish in turmoil and a new head coach coming in, his departure – like Clausen’s – is hardly a surprise.

Tate had a monster year as Clausen’s favorite target. He pulled in 93 passes and 15 touchdowns while gaining 1,496 receiving yards in 2009.

It was reported earlier that Charlie Weis and Jimmy Clausen could be paired back together next season with the Washington Redskins.

There is no word yet as to where Tate might land.
