Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams will miss Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.

The Panthers will sit their premiere back due to a ankle injury according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network.

Also inactive for the Panthers are running back Tyrell Sutton, defensive end Hilee Taylor, cornerback C.J. Wilson, wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, tackle Rob Petitti, defensive tackle Derek Landri and third string quarterback Hunter Cantwell.

The New York Giants inactives are wide receiver Ramses Barden, cornerback Aaron Ross, running back Danny Ware, tackle Kareem McKenzie, corner back Corey Webster, guard Rich Seubert, wide receiver Sinorice Moss and tight end Scott Chandler.

For the Giants, this is a must-win game to keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss coupled with a Dallas Cowboys win over the Washington Redskins will officially end the team’s playoff hopes.
