New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery next week and will miss the team’s final game of the season on Sunday.
He was limited to six carries and only one yard last Sunday against the Panthers before exiting the game early due to the injury.
Jacobs will finish the season with 835 yards and five touchdowns—numbers that are far less impressive than his totals a year ago.
PFT reports that he is expected to return to the New York back field in 2010 after signing a big contract this past offseason.
