The playoff fate of the New York Giants rests squarely on the shoulders of the Dallas Cowboys after they were dismantled 41-9 by the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at their final game at Giants Stadium.
Trailing 24-0 at halftime, New York didn’t improve much in the second half.
The Giants turned the ball over four times in the game, including lost fumbles by Eli Manning and Mario Manningham. Manning also threw two interceptions.
For the Panthers, Jonathan Stewart had a monster game on the ground, carrying the ball 28 times for 206 yards and a touchdown, including a 54 yard scamper.
Matt Moore did a fine job filling in for Jake Delhomme who was placed on injured reserve. Moore was 15 of 20 passing for 171 yards and three touchdowns. He did not thrown an interception.
The Giants must now hope for a Cowboys loss to the Washington Redskins to keep their playoff chances alive.
