The Philadelphia Eagles outlasted the New York Giants in a Sunday night shootout in the Meadowlands.

The two teams combined for 83 points as the Eagles topped the Giants 45-38.

Donovan McNabb completed 17 of 26 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns on the night. He also threw one pick.

Michael Vick saw some action and found the end zone on a one yard run in the 2nd quarter.

But it was the play of DeSean Jackson who really made the difference on the night.

Jackson hauled in six passes for 178 yards and one touchdown. He also had a 72 yard punt return for a touchdown.

Eli Manning had a huge game in the loss, completing 27 of 38 passing attempts for 391 yards and three touchdowns.

Manning was generous in spreading the ball around, with eight different Giants getting a reception. Hakeem Nicks led the receiving corps with four grabs for 110 yards and a score.

Steve Smith and Kevin Boss had seven grabs each.

Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw split the rushing load evenly, combining for 115 yards. Each player also found the end zone.

The game took an ugly turn at the end that resulted in the ejection of Eagles DE Trent Cole who threw two punches.

The win gives Philly the lead in the NFC East with a record of 9-4.

The Giants drop to 7-6 and need some help now to make the playoffs as they currently sit in third place in the division. They face the suddenly potent offense of the Washington Redskins next Monday night at FedEx Field.

Philadelphia will take on the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday at home.
