Cowboys Debate Placing Nick Folk on Injured Reserve

The Dallas Cowboys are considering placing struggling kicker Nick Folk on injured reserve.

ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting that the Cowboys don’t want to release Folk outright because they feel he can be a valuable commodity again in the future.

The general consensus in the Dallas locker room is that all of his issues are mental.

Folk has missed a league high 10 field goals this season, including a 26-yard chip shot Saturday night against the New Orleans Saints.

Should Folk be placed on IR, Dallas would likely cite the offseason hip surgery he had.

There was further speculation that Jason Elam could be the man to replace Folk down the stretch.
