The Dallas Cowboys clinched a playoff berth with their 17-0 win over the Washington Redskins Sunday night and knocked the New York Giants out of playoff contention in doing so.
Tony Romo continued to thaw his December chills by throwing for 286 yards behind 25 of 38 passing. He also had one touchdown and interception.
Jason Witten was the team’s leading receiver, catching six passes for 117 yards.
Miles Austin hauled in nine receptions for 92 yards.
Roy Williams made the most out of his one grab, finding pay dirt from four yards out.
Marion Barber carried the ball 17 times for 63 yards, while Felix Jones carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards.
For the Redskins, Jason Campbell continued to get hurried and knocked down with his numbers reflecting that. He was 24 of 39 on the night for 199 yards and one interception.
The ground game for Washington was lethargic, earning only 43 yards on the night. Campbell tied Quinton Ganther as the team’s top rusher with 13 yards.
Santana Moss was Campbell’s favorite target, catching eight passes for 92 yards.
The last time the Redskins were shut out at home was December 14, 2003… they lost to the Dallas Cowboys that day 27-0.
The loss also dropped their division record to 0-6 on the year.
