The New Orleans Saints appear to be headed in the wrong direction headed into the playoffs. After starting the season 13-0, the team lost their second straight game Sunday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upset them 20-17 in overtime.

Micheal Spurlock had a 77 yard punt return for a touchdown with a little over two minutes remaining in the game to draw the teams even.

The Saints had an opportunity to win the game in regulation, but Garrett Hartley missed a 37-yard field goal as time expired to send the game into overtime.

Instead, it was Buccaneers kicker Connor Barth who got the glory with a 47-yard game winner in overtime.

Bucs rookie quarterback Josh Freeman was 21 of 31 passing for 271 yards and two interceptions in the upset win.

Cadillac Williams carried the ball 24 times for 129 yards and one touchdown to lead the Tampa offense.

For the Saints, Drew Brees was 33 of 37 passing for 258 yards a touchdown.

Pierre Thomas had six carries for 60 yards and a touchdown before being knocked out of the game with bruised ribs.

Leading the Saints receivers was Marques Colston who hauled in eight passes for 77 yards.

The New Orleans loss leaves the door open for the Minnesota Vikings to sneak in as the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
