The Pittsburgh Steelers were all but eliminated from the playoffs Thursday night thanks to a 13-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns on a bitterly cold night along the shores of Lake Erie.

The loss is the fifth straight for a Pittsburgh team who started the season at 6-2. They now stand a 6-7, needing a massive amount of help to even have a prayer at earning a spot in the playoffs.

The Steelers offense was lethargic at best in their fifth consecutive loss. They were only able to produce 216 yards for the game.

It wasn’t as if the Brown’s offense set the world on fire.

QB Brady Quinn was 6/19 passing for 90 yards.

A bright spot for the Browns came from Joshua Cribbs who carried the ball eight times for 87 yards. He also had one reception, a 32 yard kickoff return and a 55 yard punt return on the night.

The Browns record improves to 2-11 on the season.

Chris Jennings was the only player for either team to find the end zone, hitting pay dirt on a ten-yard scamper in the second quarter.

For the Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger was 18/32 passing for 201 yards. He was also sacked eight times.

Hines Ward, who surprised many by playing Thursday, quietly hauled in four passes for 21 yards.
