Bill Cowher Wants to Coach, But Not for Redskins

Bill Cowher

Bill Cowher

Bill Cowher is more interested than ever in returning to the NFL according to a source close to the former Steelers head coach.

One team he will not be headed to, however, is the Washington Redskins.

Chris Russell, a Redskins beat report for radio station 106.7 The Fan in Washington, DC, stated that the same source told him that Cowher would not even entertain the idea of working in Washington… Not this season, not ever.

Cowher feels very strongly that he could not work for owner Daniel Snyder who has been widely blamed for much of the Redskins’ failure as of late. He has also been named as the worst owner in sports.

Taking a move to Washington out of the equation, Cowher has still flip-flopped his position on not wanting to return to coaching anytime soon.

There is a possibility that he may wind up with the Carolina Panthers or Chicago Bears.

But where does that leave the Redskins? There is now speculation that former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick is a candidate to take over if Jim Zorn is dismissed at the end of the season.
