Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox suffered an apparent knee injury and had to be carted off the field Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings.

Knox went down with a little over one minute left in the third quarter after returning a kickoff.

It appeared that the rookie’s legs got trapped under him as he was tackled and got bent awkwardly as a pair of Vikings landed on top of him.

He waved to the crowd at Soldier Field as he was being driven to the locker room.

Knox amassed 527 yards receiving on 45 catches this season with five touchdowns.

Update: Knox apparently suffered a severely sprained ankle and is done for the season. (more)
