The Atlanta Falcons released kicker Jason Elam and signed Matt Bryant in his place.
Elam’s dismissal is hardly a surprise as he is only 12 for 19 with field goal attempts this year.
Bryant is yet to kick this year after having a decent season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008 where he was successful on 32 of his 38 field goal attempts.
In a related move, the Falcons also cut long snapper Bryan Pittman and signed Joe Zelenka in his place according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… unless you’re on special teams in Atlanta.
